Many public school libraries have become better known as media centers. Join Sarah A. Long, Director of the North Suburban Library System, and host as she meets with Barbara Stretch who will give us a tour of the media center at the Plum Grove Junior High School in Rolling Meadows, and show us how students and teachers have learned to integrate technology into their everyday school lives. Next we will visit the campus of Northwestern University and meet with David Bishop, Library Director who will give us a tour of the campus library and talk about the services that the library provides for faculty, students and the public on What's New in Libraries?

What's New in Libraries? is an award-winning cable show which aims to showcase the events, programs, and people that make libraries vibrant community centers. Sarah Long, the host, also writes a weekly column for Chicago's Daily Herald, which highlights opportunities and issues in the library world.

Sarah Long, host Sarah is the director of the North Suburban Library System and host of What's New in Libraries? As a recent past president of the American Library Association, Sarah uses her motivational speeches, weekly Daily Herald newspaper column, and radio and television appearances to advocate locally and nationally for libraries.
